Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) works in coordination with the Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) to help prevent the vehicle skidding or wheels spinning by applying braking and adjusting engine power depending on the conditions.
There are different braking control systems such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD). Together these features prevent the wheels from locking; monitoring each wheel individually to make sure the Passat Wagon comes to a swift and safe stop while maintaining steering control.
